How To Budget Money?

  • Pay Yourself first

Well, I'm not going to lie, you are going to have to sacrifice. It will be worth it in the long run. You will have to designate a certain amount to automatically go to a savings account for emergencies only.

According to Money Talk News,

Payroll deduction is among the best fixes for struggling savers. With this approach, you have money automatically taken from your paycheck and transferred to a savings account or retirement account. Your employer may even allow you to directly deposit paychecks into multiple accounts.

Also, send any additional income from raises, bonuses, cash awards or other windfalls straight to savings.

  • Keep The Change

Put some money in a jar, envelope, or piggy bank and save it for later. That way when you go shopping, you won't be as tempted to use the change in your pockets or purse. When the jar is full deposit it into your bank account.

Eventually, those dollars and coins you saved can be used for Christmas gifts, vacations, or whatever you desire. This will keep you from going into your emergency savings account on those special occasions.

Sometimes those extra coins at the end of the year can be used to help pay down debt.

  • Limit Credit Card Use

The bonus is not using credit cards for these purchases; which helps you save more in the long run. Use your credit card only when necessary. When you have to use them, be sure to pay the bill on time and pay more than the minimum amount to get rid of the debt quicker.
*Hint- Wrap a note around your credit card saying, "is this a necessity?"
  • Compare Prices

Comparison Shop To Find Cheaper Prices

Some stores will match the price of their competitors: therefore, you don't have to waste gas going from store to store to get a deal. You can always check online before you go shopping. Use coupons for grocery stores, restaurants, and some other stores. Some coupon users are so good at it, that they practically get some stuff for almost free.

Sign up For Restaurant's Email List

There are some Restaurants, that if you sign up for their email list, they'll send you coupons all through the year. Some of them even send you a coupon for a free dinner on your birthday.

Wouldn't you like to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner free on your birthday?

Of course, they would be from different restaurants. Some places that have given birthday dinners or discounts are Ruby Tuesday and Fire House, among others.

How to keep a budget?

Track the amount that you spend and what you spend it on. This helps you get an accurate picture of where you spend your money and correct bad spending habits that are not beneficial for the long term.

You should check your bank account statement and put things into various categories mentally or on paper to make it easier to keep up with.
