Interview with Doris Hobbs & Ayana
Let's have a talk with Doris Hobbs & Ayana
Arica: Napa Meets the Runway at Charles Krug Winery is a Doris Hobbs & ANG Model Management production that will debut a never-before-seen runway experience. We are so excited to view this impressive collaboration between such incredible individuals. We are fascinated to know what motivated you to establish such a captivating fashion experience?
Doris Hobbs: It's the universe at work as Ayana, and I have been connected for over 4+ years, and we briefly spoke of partnering to produce a future runway show. About a year later, I met Jim Morris, VP of Charles Krug, who asked me to assist with producing something fashionable at the winery for their ongoing arts program. I, of course, said yes, and after a few months of conversation, Napa Meets the Runway was born.
Ayana and I desired to produce a show with a number of layers. One of those was to highlight emerging fashion designers from throughout the greater San Francisco bay area and beyond. In addition, through her agency, I knew we would have models cast that would be from all ethnicity and gender. We felt during a time when the world has turned upside down, we need to focus on bringing all communities together as we are all one.

When guests arrive, they will be greeted with a luxurious glass of bubbles as they enter the grassy knoll behind the historic Carriage House, where guests will be able to mingle with the designers and production team before the show. Jim Morris will be hosting the one-hour event, and afterward, guests will have the opportunity to shop all designers from the runway in addition to 9+ other local and east bay retailers, boutiques, and designers.
