The access module is the heart of Brose’s vehicle access system, offering flexible operation. Another product in Brose’s portfolio was a door presenter that can open the door wide enough, allowing vehicle users to conveniently grasp and pull it open completely. This further increases user comfort cost-effectively without needing a fully equipped side door drive with collision protection. 

This powerful door presenter can also break open a locked frozen door. Its drive has a small form factor, allowing simple integration in the door at the ideal activation point. Autonomous shuttles play a causal role in urban mobility scenarios of the future. Brose has teamed up with Bode to engineer an access concept for people movers. 

The company is also working on developing barrier-free access solutions and plans to introduce a concept for safe, comfortable standing and reclining in autonomous driving scenarios. Other features that Borse’s solutions offer are operating interfaces, obstacle detection & technology for fully automatic opening & closing of vehicle doors.

The approach eliminates the otherwise standard use of a rotating column in the interior, which leaves more room for passengers and cargo. Thus, Brose has opened up completely new dimensions of comfort with its side doors & liftgate drives that open and close automatically.
