According to Livestrong,

When the scalp is in a unhealthy condition, the hair will stay in the telogen stage longer. That not a good thing.

So make sure to nourish your scalp by eating a healthy diet, practicing stress management, and getting plenty of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and substances such as essential amino acids (the building blocks of protein), natural vasodilators and plant-based adaptogens."

Proper Hair Care
You should take the proper amount of time to find the right hair care product for your hair type. Just because your friend uses a product and it works for her, doesn't automatically mean its right for your hair type. There will be some trial and error when seeking hair care products that give you the right moisture for you, but when you find the product for your hair, make sure to keep up to date on if the company changes any ingredients in that product. Watch to see if it still works well with your tresses, or if that ingredient doesn't blend with your hair as well. If not, avoid things with that ingredient unless you buy a small amount to try.
